Well, whadaya know

You know how I just noted that I'm a liberal? Took this quiz from the Pew Center and found out I was right!

So now, of course, I'm curious where everyone else scores on this. If you dare, take the survey and post in the comments.

Remember I was under the evil influence of my Reaganomics-approving parents. Not to mention Ben. I do remember going around ICPNA with that pin and I still have it as a reminder of what I could slide back into. (And I, for one, am glad I wasn't able to vote then.)

FYI to everyone, Angela also scored as a liberal. (Angela's father, about five years ago: "When did my daughter become a liberal?" Me: "When was she not?")

Not surprisingly, I too was found to be a liberal...a Massachusetts liberal at that!

Hopefully, my corporate bosses don't ever find out.

Been enjoying reading about life with Xan. =)

ah, yes. ben.

you should check out the political compass -- it offers a more nuanced view. i, for example, come out as "libertarian left" along these lines:

Economic Left/Right: -5.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.82

Wow, you're right -- this is a more nuanced test. Here are my scores:

Economic Left/Right: -4.13
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.49

I'm a little surprised that I also come across as Libertarian Left, though perhaps I shouldn't be, haha.

i don't know how you thought you were. no one who listens to brit pop and wears purple button-ups could possibly be a conservative... ;)

my current score:
Economic Left/Right: -1.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.23

a few years ago, i scored something around -6, -3. i attribute the economic drift toward the middle to adoption of globalization for the personal goal of undermining the u.s., to the benefit of third world countries and extranational corporations. =)

oh, and btw, hi. =) congrats on being a daddy. it's a wonderful, life-broadening experience.

Note to Percival: Ohmygod. Send me a proper e-mail so I may send something proper back to you. It's been way too long.

And Paul: you're in Santa Cruz now?? I thought you were in San Jose! (And if you are, please tell me you frequent the Cafe Brazil for breakfast... Mmmm, feixoada with eggs...)

Hell Jeff, it's not as if you are some kind of robot who your parents and I programmed to be a republican in high school...How typically liberal to blame your youthful political leanings on upbringing and peer pressure. Sheesh. You liberals never take responsibility for anything...it's whine whine this, and whine whine that ;-).

OK, the Typology test results accuse me of being "Upbeat." That bothers me somewhat as I consider myself to be a tried and true pessimist. According to the website, Upbeats do not necessarily fit every group characteristic or agree with the group on all issues. Upbeats represent 11 percent of the American public, and 13 percent of registered voters.

As far as the political compass goes:

Economic Left/Right: -0.63
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.31

So there you go.
